Edwin Morales is a freshman at Camden County College, where he also competes on the wrestling team. Edwin’s commitment to furthering his education, and drive to constantly better himself, makes him a role model to many of the younger participants in Beat the Streets.
Edwin began wrestling his freshman year at Mariana Bracetti Charter School. However, he did not begin to fully dedicate himself to the sport until his Jr. year when he realized he had the potential to continue wrestling at the collegiate level. Edwin participated in the mentoring center for two years, actively working to raise his grades and become more prepared for the rigorous academic workload he would face in college.
While being a full-time college student is a strenuous undertaking in itself, Edwin also wrestles for Camden County and comes back to volunteer at Beat the Streets several times a week. Edwin is continuously growing as a wrestler, a student, and now a mentor to other athletes in the Beat the Streets Program. Edwin has already impressed us with how he has stepped up, and we are excited to continue to watch his growth and development unfold.
